The Lancet–CAMS Health Summit 2017: a call for abstracts from China

The Lancet and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS) have held two successful health summits in 2015 and 2016 in Beijing, China. We are thrilled to be involved in the exciting and rapid progress of medical research in China, and will continue to support China's health science research. We invite abstract submissions from China for The Lancet–CAMS Health Summit 2017, to be held on Oct 13–14 in Beijing. Submissions are invited from all aspects of health science including, but not limited to: translational medicine, clinical medicine, public health, global health, health policy, the environment and ecological systems and health, health professionalism, and medical education.

The event will consist of keynote presentations by leading researchers from China and other countries, oral and poster presentations of selected abstracts, the launch of The Lancet's annual China themed issue, and writing and publishing sessions with Lancet editors. The Lancet will publish accepted abstracts online and in a conference booklet. Work completed outside China can be submitted, but only abstracts relevant to health science in China will be considered.

The conference language will be English and abstracts should be written in English, up to 300 words in length, and with no references, tables, or figures. Submission should be structured and include the following section: background (including context and aim), methods, findings, and interpretation. People also include a nondeclamatory title (including a study descriptor-eg, randomised controlled trial); names, titles, highest degrees, and affiliation of authors; postal, email addresses, and phone number for the corresponding author; any funding received (if none, please state this); and a brief summary of the contributions of each author and any competing interests. Abstract guidelines are available on The Lancet’s website.

 Please submit your abstract as a Word document throught The Lancet’s online submission system no later than April 13, 2017, stating in your covering letter that the submission is in response is in response to this call for abstracts from China. After peer review at The Lancet and CAMS, participants will be informed of acceptance of abstracts by June 30, 2017.
